https://www.wearegyo.org/ Giving Youth Opportunities (GYO) is a non-profit organization that supports the development of children living in resource-constrained Los Angeles communities. It sponsors community events and programs where children learn about various life skills such as career planning, financial literacy, and volunteering in the community. I met the Executive Director, Alesha Briggs, at a Compton Initiative workday with a group of children from her organization. I find donating my time and dollars to Giving Youth Opportunities very satisfying as you can directly see the work they are doing and how your money is being used.
