Wat Thai of Los Angeles is the principal religious and cultural center for the Thai Buddhist community in Los Angeles. It is here where many Buddhists come to practice and learn more about their religion. At Wat Thai there is a feeling of togetherness resulting from the shared beliefs.
This project was intended to capture people expressing their spiritual beliefs and devotion to Buddhism at Wat Thai. These images reflect intimate moments of people praying, sometimes in response to a profound life event. They are also moments of celebration and making merit to bring good karma.
